Nestled in the Cornish countryside just minutes from a breathtaking coastline, Treseren is a striking Georgian country house effortlessly combining traditional style with modern features.

Originally built in 1819 for a Mine Captain, Treseren is now an award-winning host of luxury small weddings. With soaring archways and period features complimented by a neutral colour palette and Lusso finishings, it’s the perfect backdrop for the big day.

A recently renovated wing includes a luxury wet room, complete with Mayfair grab rails and accessories in stunning brushed gold to create a fully accessible and aesthetic space for guests.

We talk to couple Emma and Paul, the creatives behind the stunning property, about why using Lusso pieces to create an accessible bathroom was important to Treseren.

Where did you draw inspiration from when designing Treseren?

Treseren is a Georgian gem with beautiful light, proportions and plenty of history. Approaching the project, we were faced with re-wiring, re-plumbing and had to strip back layers of dated wallpaper and carpet to uncover elegant architectural bones.

When designing the interiors, we wanted to honour the history and romance of the house whilst also creating a beautiful space fit for the 21st century, by using a calming colour palette that harmonises with our beautiful surroundings.

Can you tell us about the recent wet room transformation?

We consulted closely with old friends Tanya Motie, a disabled activist and former BBC TV executive who sits on the BBC’s Diversity Advisory Board, and Andy Gilbert, a former Paralympic swimmer and medal winner, so we felt lucky to be able to benefit from their experience. Our project was informed with real, first-hand knowledge.

Since completing the project, we have been delighted to welcome a number of guests that have now enjoyed a luxurious bathroom experience. Alongside happy wedding couples, we have welcomed elderly guests and wheelchair users, all who have commented on how great the space is for them to use.

Before founding Treseren, we had careers in film and television. We recently invited old friend and TV presenter, Ade Adepitan to road test the finished project during a family visit to Cornwall.

What attracted you to Lusso, and which product is your favourite?

It was important to us that the wet room space reflected the design-led interiors of the rest of Treseren, and material choices were to be determined by both style and practicality. We wanted the finished bathroom to offer a luxury experience for everyone that uses the space. It quickly became apparent that unfortunately lots of products designed to aid with accessibility are not necessarily the most aesthetic choices.

Lusso was our number one choice for functional pieces that also offered a stylish range of options. We love the Mayfair brushed gold grab rails, which were really the starting point of the design!

How was your experience dealing with deliveries and customer service from Lusso?

Matthew at Lusso was absolutely brilliant - we initially contacted Lusso for some advice on product choices and Matthew took the time to learn about our project and suggest the best options. As is often the case with renovation projects, we were under strict time constraints and Lusso ensured that we received all items promptly and advised us on any products with longer lead times.
