Styling Spaces

Whether you’re planning on completely remodelling your bathroom or you just want to refresh its aesthetic, it takes time and careful consideration to create a truly cohesive look. To provide inspiration for your next project, here we share tried and tested design rules on how to style modern, traditional and luxury spaces.

Modern Bathrooms

For a contemporary but relaxing bathroom, choose quiet colours to create a tranquil ambience. Stick to a single shade to create a minimal feel, or mix crisp white with soothing neutrals for added warmth.

To add visual interest, make sure to layer varied materials, tiles, textiles and accessories throughout the space, and choose a bright or bold accent colour to use in moderation.

Clean and clear surfaces are also key in modern interiors, however you can easily increase the sense of space and incorporate essential storage into your bathroom with the addition of a wall hung vanity unit.

Traditional Bathrooms

If you’re looking to achieve a more traditional aesthetic, consider embracing bold patterns by incorporating vintage-inspired tiles, textures and wallpaper throughout your bathroom. Opt for bright and busy prints, or go for dark and dramatic for a sophisticated feel.

To create an elegant focal point, invest in a cast iron freestanding bath with a roll top rim or claw feet, or a timeless  vanity unit with classic design notes.

Where possible, also look to expose and accentuate any period features such as beams and plasterwork that highlight the history of your home.

Luxury Bathrooms

A luxury bathroom can be either classic or contemporary in terms of style, however choosing opulent materials as well as flawless fixtures and fittings is key. You should also ensure that your brassware finishes and accessories are carefully coordinated, and focus on layered lighting that's both practical and flattering.

For a sense of grandeur, make a design statement with a freestanding stone bath and dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows, or opt for captivating marble for your bathroom basins and surfaces.

You can also elevate your bathroom with the addition of a rainfall shower and sleek enclosure, enabling you to enjoy a spa-like experience in your own home.
