Langdale Chase

On the scenic shores of Windermere in the picturesque Lake District, Langdale Chase is the perfect lakeside escape. The grade II listed landmark, built in 1891, was restored in 2023 and was supplied by Lusso for the fixtures and fittings within its traditional bathrooms.

Langdale Chase prides itself on inspiring artists, authors, and poets for centuries, sitting beautifully on the lakeside of one of the UK’s most stunning vacation destinations. It gained acclaim from British poet William Wordsworth as “The loveliest spot that man hath ever found”, a testament to its beauty, heritage, and sense of calm.

The Victorian building was initially purchased in 1890 by a British businessman who intended to create a small retreat. Forty years later, the building was transformed into a hotel, and almost one hundred years on, the building is once again restored into an enchanting hotel with a plethora of history behind it. 

Langdale Chase, while undergoing restoration, still retains original features which embrace its history, such as a boot room, a reading room, and a wine cellar, as well as original wooden staircases and gothic Victorian elements, bringing a new sense of life to the interior without stripping it of its originality.

With 30 spacious bedrooms and suites, the hotel’s design offers refined British country living, with luxurious bedrooms and beautiful bathrooms completed with Lusso fixtures and fittings. 

Working with Goff Associates on the interior design, the stunning bathrooms feature a broad range of Lusso products, such as the Moritz, Napoli, and Monaco freestanding stone baths, as well as the Connaught and Couture vanity units, paired with taps and showers from the extensive range. 

In one bathroom sits the Napoli Bath, allowing its curved structure to engulf you whilst soaking in the sights of the British countryscape. Alongside the smooth stone bath sits the Connaught vanity unit in matte stone - a celebration of iconic Art Deco design. In another, guests can enjoy the Moritz Bath and the luxuries of the Connaught vanity unit. 

The hotel offers picturesque beauty from every angle, whether it’s the Langdale Fells which can be observed from the majestic garden, the yachts cruising along Windermere or the simple beauties of everything the hotel has to offer.
