Supply Chain Manager
ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be a strong inspirational leader and can think commercially through strong analytical and planning skills; you'll oversee and manage every stage of the production flow, from purchasing the products from our suppliers to the delivery of the final product into our 3PL. You'll ensure the right number of products are manufactured at the right amount of time, to incorporate lead time and delivery as well as coordinate the receipt of the product. An overview of the movement of goods from distribution centres to customers and businesses is also required, along with forecasting trends and managing inventories. You are someone who advocates for effective teamwork across the business and locations, and who can lead the way in best practices in logistics and supply chain management
Location: Stockton, Teesside.
Job Type: Full-time, office based. Core hours Monday to Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in a senior supply chain management role within a product-based, fast-moving environment (luxury goods or homeware desirable)
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams across supply chain, logistics, and warehouse functions.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, purchasing, inventory systems, and warehouse management.
- Experience working with ERP systems and data analysis for supply chain optimisation.
- Excellent negotiation, supplier relationship, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Highly organised with exceptional problem-solving abilities and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Commercial acumen and understanding of financial impact within the supply chain.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Experienced in a similar, senior role (not purely warehouse focused) Hold a full, clean driver’s license and happy to travel between sites on a day-to-day basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with the IT department and systems on procurement forecasts, trends and ultimate PO placement.
- Work on forecasts and inventories, keeping an accurate record of the process and analysing performance.
- The ongoing negotiation of existing contracts with suppliers, always ensuring the best quality and cost.
- Along with the purchasing manager, manage the relationships with the Lusso material suppliers, seek constant improvement along with monthly monitoring of performance and reporting.
- Manage all standards, certifications, and accreditations, ensuring the business is up to date with all global energy performance and sustainability requirements for packaging etc.
- Controlling manufacturing and delivery processes from China with our shipping agents.
- Plan and implement logistical strategy, ensuring targets are met to align with business forecasts.
- Oversee 3PL partner, Goods in, handling and distribution.
- Oversee the Returns, Samples and Spare Parts Warehouse, ensuring all targets are met and returns are put back onto stock in a timely manner.
- A familiarisation of computer software to track goods from origin to delivery.
- Manage the costs involved while maintaining quality.
- Ensure you're aware of exactly what is always happening throughout the supply chain.
- Manage and motivate a team of supply chain staff, Despatch & Logistics.
- Improve the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations to the process.
- Develop new and existing relationships with suppliers and continually review existing supply.
- Manage and minimise the risks (for example operational or reputational) that could affect or interrupt the supply chain.
- Consider the environmental impact of the supply chain to meet sustainability targets.
- Implement new technologies and stay alert to new trends and developments in the sector.
- Be accountable and manage the department budget and forecast to contribute to the overall commercial objectives.
- Produce regular performance reports based on KPI analysis.
- Build relationships with all key stakeholders across the business.
- Develop skills within the supply chain & despatch teams to ensure continued improvement.
- Responsible for developing logistics and supply chain best practices and analytics across the team.
