What is a wet room?

A wet room is a bathroom that’s fully waterproofed, and usually features a shower that’s flush with the surrounding space. Unlike a traditional bathroom, the entire space within a wet room can essentially be a shower area.

Are wet rooms easy to maintain?

The combination of a seamless design and waterproof materials means that wet rooms can be relatively easy to maintain, and with proper cleaning and regular upkeep, they can minimise the need for grout maintenance. Our wet room kits also feature removable grates, making them much easier to clean.

What are the main advantages of a wet room?

Wet rooms maximise space by removing the need for a traditional shower enclosure or tray, creating a sleek, open-plan feel. The fully waterproofed design makes them easy to clean and maintain, with fewer nooks for dirt or mould to gather.

Wet rooms are also highly versatile — they work well in both compact bathrooms and large luxury suites — and provide excellent accessibility thanks to their level, walk-in entry. They also deliver a contemporary, spa-like aesthetic that enhances the overall value and appeal of your home.

Are wet room kits easy to install?

Our wet room kits are a convenient option for homeowners, designers or property developers looking to create a wet room space, as they include all the necessary components. For optimal results, however, we recommend that you appoint a professional to carry out the installation due to the level of waterproofing involved.

Can I customise my wet room kit to match my flooring?

Yes, you can customise our wet room kits to match your flooring. Our kits are reversible, which means you can install them to display one of two sides — one side with a brushed gold, brushed stainless or matte black finish that matches its surrounding frame, or the alternative side, which you can add tiling to.

How is a wet room different from a traditional shower or bathroom?

Instead of having a separate shower tray or enclosure, the floor of a wet room is completely tiled and gently sloped to allow water to drain away. Unlike traditional showers, which separate the shower with screens or trays, a wet room offers a minimalist, contemporary look and maximises space.

How much does a wet room cost?

A wet room’s cost depends on factors like size, materials, drainage method, waterproofing and finish choices. As a guide, our wet room kits begin from £452, with additional costs of a shower screen, shower set and other fittings to complete your wet room.

What type of floor and drainage do I need for a wet room

Our wet rooms are compatible with wood, concrete, or tiled flooring, provided the area is fully tanked and waterproofed. The floor should incorporate a subtle gradient to channel water efficiently into the drain. Drainage options include central, offset, or linear types, allowing you to choose the style that best suits your bathroom design.

How to clean a wet room floor

To maintain the look and hygiene of your wet room, we recommend cleaning the floor regularly with a mild warm water and soap solution, applied using a soft mop or microfibre cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the tiles or grout. For added care, ensure the drain is kept clear and free from debris to allow water to flow away easily.
