As 2021 draws to an end, we’d like to reflect on a year of success, expansion and accomplishments, with a note from our CEO and founder, Wayne Spriggs.
“After another monumental year for Lusso, I’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on some of our accomplishments and thank those who’ve helped us to achieve them.
As for many brands and businesses, 2021 brought a level of uncertainty, however we’re in the incredibly fortunate position to be able to announce that we’ve not only met all of our plans and targets for the last 12 months, we’ve exceeded them, giving us an incredible head start for our ambitious growth plans for next year.
We’ve also expanded our product range and launched a number of new collections throughout the year including Pietra, which features baths and basins exclusively crafted from flawless marble, and Deco, which offers cast iron baths, vanity units, brassware and sanitaryware that combine our signature aesthetic with traditional design notes from the 1920s. Both of these collections can be found alongside our existing Lusso Stone pieces on our online store, which we redesigned and relaunched this year to accommodate our widening range and in preparation for even greater expansion in the coming months.
A further achievement that I’m personally extremely proud of is the purchase of our new headquarters – Lusso House – which we unveiled earlier this month. With over 12,000 square feet across three floors, our immaculate new offices feature spacious hotdesking facilities, breakout areas, meeting rooms and pods, plus a number of social spaces including an espresso station, relaxation nooks, a fully equipped gym, and a licensed bar. This significant investment aims to provide our team with a luxury working environment, helping us to attract and retain the best talent and become the number one company to work for in our region. Lusso House also includes a showroom area for visiting architects, designers and developers, and we look forward to welcoming new and existing clients to our premises to enjoy a luxury purchasing experience.
Our ongoing success over the last year has been recognised externally too, with Lusso being ranked as the North East’s fastest growing medium sized business by Ward Hadaway, and I was personally honoured to win the title of Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. We’ve also continued to garner attention from mainstream media, with Lusso products featuring in a huge number of programmes and publications including Wallpaper, The Times, Forbes, Livingetc, and Grand Designs.
2022 is set to be an even bigger year for our brand as we set our sights on international growth across Europe and the US. As part of our vision to become the world’s ultimate online luxury department store – offering everything from baths and body care to flooring and furniture all under the Lusso brand – we’ll also be significantly expanding our product range, beginning with a new collection of hardware in January.
In addition, we’ll soon be opening the doors to our first exclusive showroom in Mayfair – we’ve already shortlisted potential properties for the location and partnered with a renowned interior designer to develop a concept that allows us to showcase our collections within a suitably luxuriant setting.
As many companies – particularly those within the hospitality sector – continue to struggle during these turbulent times, we’re incredibly grateful to be in such a strong position, and I’d like to thank all of the partner agencies that we work closely with for helping us to succeed through continued hard work and commitment to the highest standards.
Finally and most importantly, I’d also like to thank the entire Lusso team – by living and breathing our brand, each and every one of you has made all of the above possible, and with your combined passion, talent and dedication, I know next year will be an even bigger success.”
