The last three decades have seen London’s Canary Wharf undergo an incredible transformation as a result of one of the largest regeneration projects in Europe. Today, it’s one of the greatest feats of civic engineering and a bustling hive for finance, business and tech, welcoming 120,000 office workers on a daily basis. It’s also become a popular destination for shopping, dining and leisure and its newest district – Wood Wharf – is set to be the jewel in its crown.
The multi-billion pound development is spread across a 23 acre site, and is currently being shaped into a mixed-use neighbourhood with 2 million sq ft of office space designed by some of the world’s leading architects, around 3,600 new homes, and 350,000 sq ft of retail space set aside for an eclectic mix of independent stores and galleries. It will also be home to scores of restaurants, cafes, bars, and pop-up food stalls and markets, alongside an abundance of outdoor spaces, waterside walkways and roof terraces to promote health and wellbeing.
Marking the gateway between Wood Wharf and Canary Wharf will be One Charter Street – a 20 storey luxury aparthotel complex featuring 279 serviced apartments as well as a workout studio, cafe, bar, co-working space, and a Michelin starred restaurant on its rooftop providing panoramic views of London’s incredible skyline.
The Art Deco inspired building is scheduled for completion in 2022, with modular apartments across 17 floors which are currently being developed by Caledonian – the UK’s leading offsite volumetric manufacturer that’s working on the aparthotel in collaboration with Canary Wharf Group developers, hospitality group Edyn, as well as design partners HTA and Holloway Li. Each apartment will be completed to an exceptionally high standard, and to ensure it delivers a luxury experience and impeccable aesthetic, Caledonian has appointed Lusso to furnish all of its bathrooms and provide brushed gold mixer taps for all of its kitchens.
Guests will be able to enjoy contemporary cube basins from our Lusso Stone collection, cast from pure limestone for a flawless, tactile finish that’s warm to the touch, paired with brushed gold basin mixer taps with Swiss-made Neoperl aerators for smooth and continuous water flow. In addition to providing a range of robust fixtures and fittings, the apartments will also be fitted with Lusso’s striking thermostatic showers and ceiling mounted showers, as well as a complete range of accessories to add the finishing touch to each space, including bathroom tissue holders and robe hooks finished in chrome and brushed gold.
Based on the combined expertise of its development teams, the creative acumen of its architects and interior designers, and its choice of high quality furnishings – including key pieces from Lusso – the highly anticipated One Charter Street promises to be an incredible destination within one of London’s hottest new districts.
